Surviving the Dungeon
Surviving the Dungeon is my senior Capstone focused on creating a web-based resource to help those new to Dungeons & Dragons to better understand the game. For this project I focused on building out a speculative run through of what the “character creation” portion of the site might look like and what elements it could contain in order to best help users.

The Concept:
A beloved game from the mid 70’s, Dungeons & Dragons, has been played for decades by all kinds of different people. However, such a long lasting game is bound to get some updates over time. The game, as it stands now, has seen over 10 different versions, has dozens of books containing: rules, ideas for gameplay, and variations on existing information.
Dungeons and Dragons is a daunting and overwhelming space for new players to step into, preventing people from trying the game, or discouraging them from joining groups.
By including spots where users can click to learn more and get “helpful hints”, the site acts as a friend would, helping to guide new players through elements the books may skip over or not explain in a way that new players will understand.
